A little about me...

I consider myself an "accidental" nurse. I did not grow up dreaming of being a nurse or come from a family of medical professionals. In fact, I was probably adverse to the thought of nursing because I did not like the thought of working shift work. But after two years of wandering towards a general BSc degree at the University of Toronto, I jumped into a nursing program at George Brown College, lured by the promise of a guaranteed job and the prospect of traveling after graduation.

Little did I know, I believe I have found my life's true calling and am proud and honored to be a part of many people's lives as they navigate through challenges and triumphs in their journeys. I have discovered many things about myself I didn't know existed as they do: Strength, resilience, patience, and adaptability. I wake up every day and love going to work, which is a blessing I know not many people feel. My career allows me to grow and learn everyday and I feel I receive just as much as I give.

I started my nursing career in a large inner city teaching hospital on a Med/Surg floor. I have spent the majority of my career in surgical departments. Currently, I work in outpatient procedural care.

I hope I can inspire new nurses to have passion about the profession and to do right by their patients every day. The changing landscape of healthcare requires input and collaboration from many backgrounds and professions. I would like to be a part of helping ensure all people receive the care they need.
